Lithuania-Estonia-Latvia joint stamp issue : 25th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly

On November 8, 2016, the postal administrations of the three Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) put into circulation an interesting joint issue to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly.
As a reminder, this Baltic Assembly is an international organisation established in Tallinn on November 8, 1991 to coordinate parliamentary cooperation between the 3 Baltic states, just after their independence.
The Baltic Assembly promotes the consolidation of independence, integration into the European Union and NATO and facilitates the resolution of political, social, environmental and economic problems of the Baltic countries.

I've already mentioned on this blog the Estonian and Latvian versions of this joint souvenir sheet and I'm happy to publish today this official FDC regarding this sheet issued this time by the Lithuanian Post. Thank you very much Sigitas!
As for the other two versions, this souvenir sheet (print run : 20,000) was printed in France by Cartor Security Printing.
Designed by Estonian artist Indrek Ilves, that stamp (€ 0.97) features the emblem of this Assembly as well as the flags of the 3 countries (with the flag of the issuing country in the center).
The margins of this souvenir sheet evoke the outlines of the 3 countries, with pebbles in the background (probably an allusion to the Baltic Sea), some with the colors of their respective flags.

Sigitas sent me this FDC inside the letter above, sent on March 30, 2017 from the town of Pasvalys (north of the country).
The small stamp (€ 0.42, print run : 80,000) is part of a definitive series consisting of 6 stamps (design : Irma Balakauskaitė), issued on January 14, 2017, featuring different versions of Vytis over the centuries, this knight holding a sword in his right hand and, on his left shoulder, a shield decorated with a double cross.
This Vytis (16th century version on that stamp) appears on the coat of arms of Lithuania adopted in 1991.
The other stamp (€ 0.39, print run : 200,000, design : I. Ratkevičiūtė), issued on January 7, 2017, commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation initiated by Martin Luther (1483-1546).
A portrait of Luther is featured on that stamp, next to the All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, one of the symbols of the beginning of this Reformation in Germany.
Other Postal Administrations also dedicate stamp to Reformation in 2017 : Germany, Austria, Brazil, Vatican, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Namibia, Slovakia...
