Cover from the United Nations office in Geneva

Thank you very much Pierre for this special cover sent on April 11, 2017 from the United Nations office in Geneva, one of the 3 offices of the international organization, with Vienna and New York!
This office is located in the Palais des Nations in Geneva since 1946, where about 1,600 people work today.
Since 1951, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) is managing the issue of stamps from these United Nations offices.
The definitive stamp used here (CHF 1.50) was put into circulation on May 10, 1991 and depicts the United Nations emblem with stylized olive branches featuredin 8 different colors (why 8?).
To note on this envelope these many indexation marks, at the top and bottom (and also on the other side !)...

That stamp, printed in sheet of 50 stamps, was designed by Maurice Gouju who also created 4 stamps for the French Post between 1988 and 1996, including the stamp issued in 1995 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations.
As a reminder, it's Argentina which proposed in 1947 that the United Nations issue its own stamps. The first United Nations stamps, denominated in U.S. dollars, were issued on October 24, 1951 in New York, following an agreement with the USPS.
Similar agreements followed with the Swiss (in 1968) and Austrian (in 1979) postal administrations. More than 1.000 stamps have been issued since 1951, printed by government printing offices but also private security printing companies.
The themes featured on UNPA stamps are obviously related to the activities of the United Nations : peace, human rights, environment, endangered animal species, UNESCO World Heritage...
